È stato realizzato nel 1997 da Paul e da tutti gli altri artisti che vedete nel video per sostenere una campagna di sicurezza stradale (in particolare qui si raccomanda di avere sempre un guidatore designato se si ha intenzione di uscire e bere). Infatti lo slogan è "Designate before you celebrate".
La organizzazione no-profit per cui è stato realizzato si chiama RADD ( http://www.radd.org )
McCartney in the Driver's Seat for RADD Holiday Campaign
STUDIO CITY, Calif., Nov. 25 /PRNewswire/ -- Recording Artists, Actors, and Athletes Against Drunk Driving, the voice of the entertainment industry on the subject of road safety. McCartney is headlining RADD's 1997 "Drive My Car" holiday public service media campaign to promote designated drivers.
"You can't drive my car or anyone else's if you've been drinking," says musician-composer McCartney in a PSA which will be delivered to TV stations via satellite on November 25 for use during December, national Drunk and Drugged Driving Prevention Month.
McCartney's :30 spot opens with him singing "(Baby You Can) Drive My Car," a tune he co-wrote with John Lennon for the Beatles. The RADD message hit home for the Lennon and McCartney families; John Lennon's mother was killed by a drunk driver. Tragically, every thirty minutes someone in America dies because of a drunk driver. These senseless deaths could be prevented through the use of a designated driver.
During a brief ceremony held in conjunction with the Carnegie Hall debut of McCartney's classical symphonic poem "Standing Stone," RADD Chairman, David Niven, Jr., and President Erin Dugan Meluso, presented

Niven also commended McCartney for his many contributions to RADD, particularly for helping the award-winning organization acquire the "(Baby You Can) Drive My Car" song for non-profit use as RADD's anthem. McCartney also led an all-star cast in performing on RADD's "Drive My Car" music video.
