L'università di Oxford (UK) mette a disposizione da 8 a 10 borse di studio per ciascuno di questi settori, per la durata di 3 anni, a partire dal 1° ottobre 2008. Il bando di concorso riporta tutti i dettagli, compreso l'ammontare in pounds (sterline) e gli indirizzi ai quali rivolgersi per informazioni ulteriori e la presentazione dei documenti richiesti. JOB: Junior Research Fellowship @ Oxford

University College invites applications for a Junior Research Fellowship in
Classical Languages and Literatures, Ancient History and Classical
Archaeology tenable for three years from 1 October 2008.

Junior Research Fellowships are intended to provide opportunities for
outstanding academics at the beginning of their careers. Univ has at any
time between 8 and 10 JRFs in any of the subjects in which it has Fellows
and Lecturers, several of which are funded by Old Members of the College.
JRFs play an important part in the intellectual and social lives of the
College. While the College is careful to protect the research time of its
JRFs, the College will use its best efforts to provide access to a limited
amount of teaching, in the interest of the Fellow's career development.

The primary criterion for appointment will be research excellence.
Candidates must have a strong educational record; be approaching the end of
their doctoral research or have begun post-doctoral study; have research
expertise as demonstrated by publications, or demonstrate promise of such
achievement; and have a coherent plan of research for the duration of the
fellowship.

The current stipend for a Junior Research Fellow is £17,925 rising to
£18,462 in May 2008 and £18,824 in October 2008. The stipend will normally
be paid at a reduced rate if the successful candidate is in receipt of other
funding. The Fellow will be offered free meals and single accommodation in
College if available, or a housing allowance in lieu (currently £4,500 pa).
There will be an academic allowance (currently £1,535), an entertainment
allowance (currently up to £633), membership of USS and private health
insurance. The post-holder will be expected to offer a limited amount of
undergraduate teaching for the College if invited to do so, and/or to be
involved in associated activities such as undergraduate admissions, for both
of which additional remuneration will be provided.

Selected candidates may be asked to submit a piece of written work, such as
offprints of one or two published articles or a chapter of their theses.

any written work.
