Si intitola "Abattoir Blues/The Lyre Of Orpheus", il nuovo doppio album di Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds.
A poco più di un anno dall'uscita di "Nocturama", Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds pubblicano il loro tredicesimo album intitolato"Abattoir blues - The lyre of Orpheus".
Diciassette tracce dalle molteplici sfaccettature con interventi orchestrali e cori gospel.
Il primo disco è più cupo e si avvicina a sonorità rock mentre "The Lyre of Orpheus" è più lirico e introspettivo.
"Abattoir Blues" si apre con "Get Ready For love" seguito dalla più lenta "Cannibal’s Hymn" che cede il passo all''elettrica "Hiding All Away". Dopo il lancinante "Messiah Ward" , le atmosfere più rilassate di "There She’s Goes, My Beatiful World" e "Nature Boy". Questa prima parte del disco si chiude con "Abattoir Blues", "Let The Bells Ring" e "Fable Of The Brown Ape", pezzi che introducono "The Lyre Of Orpheus" , che contiene perle come “Breathless" e "Supernaturally".
Alla realizzazione dell'album ha collaborato il London Community Gospel Choir, presente in quasi tutte le canzoni.
