La fine degli anni '90 e l'inizio del nuovo millennio sono forieri di uno straordinario successo: i Santana vivono una nuova e incredibile giovinezza
E' l'epoca di "Supernatural", inutile girarci intorno. poche parole: Santana č di nuovo tra i grandi, senza difficoltā fa mangiare la polvere ai tanti giovinetti "latin".
Nel 1999 fa la sua apparizione il pluripremiato "Supernatural": č il 15 giugno, Carlos racconta di aver sognato un angelo che gli avrebbe detto che la sua musica sarebbe tornata in alto se portatrice di pace e speranza. Detto fatto: l'album sfonda tutte le classifiche e supera ogni aspettativa. E' una sequela di premi, riconoscimenti e concerti, in compagnia dei Manā. E' una sequela quasi imbarazzante per il tranquillo Carlos: un diluvio di premi, Santana days e ben 9 Grammy nel 2000. Nel 2001 torna in Messico e fonda la Milagro Foundation con Deborah.
Per nulla vinto dalla stanchezza pubblica il nuovo album "Shaman" in ottobre del 2002, mentre "Smooth", "Maria Maria" e "Corazon Espinado" continuano a mietere successi, premi e ambėti riconoscimenti! Sarā molto importante l'esibizione tenutasi a fine anno a Oslo per la consegna del nobel per la pace. Il 2003 prosegue frenetico tra tournče mondiali, apparizioni TV e premi.
Insomma, "Supernatural" e "Shaman" sono i due primi grandi lp del nuovo millennio!
