BMI Icon Award a Carlos Santana

Il 21 aprile il chitarrista ha ricevuto l'ambita onorificenza BMI

Dodicesima edizione del BMI Latin Awards, Las Vegas, 21 aprile: Carlos Santana è stato il primo artista latino a ricevere il premio BMI ICON Award, destinato agli autori più meritevoli e soprattutto dal successo più ragguardevole, infatti la BMI premia le canzoni latine che ottengono maggiori passaggi radiofonici e televisivi USA.

Nella motivazione del premio assegnato a Carlos si legge: "per l'unica e indelebile influenza su generazioni di musicisti".

Carlos received the BMI Icon Award at the BMI Latin Awards
2/9/2005, On April 21, 2005 Carlos was honored at the 12^th Annual BMI Latin Awards in Las Vegas, NV.   Carlos is the first songwriter honored as a BMI Icon at the company's Latin Awards. The designation is given to a creator who has been a "unique and indelible influence on generations of music makers." He joins a distinguished list of previous BMI Icons, including Brian Wilson, Chuck Berry, James Brown, Bo Diddley, Al Green, Isaac Hayes, Little Richard, Holland-Dozier-Holland, Van Morrison, Bill Anderson, Loretta Lynn and Dolly Parton.

The BMI Latin Awards recognize the songwriters and publishers of the most played Latin songs on U.S. radio and television from the company's repertoire of approximately 4.5 million musical works from around the world.
